On my visit to London, I made it one of my top priorities to visit the place where my favorite Detective used to live. Yes I am talking about SHERLOCK HOLMES!

221B Baker Street
Sherlock Holmes used to live on 221B Baker Street which used to be a little less crowded back then. The residence that SH and Dr. Watson, used to live in has now been converted into a Museum for fans. I am adding a few of the pictures I took there.
It was a very good experience for me. The worst thing was the wait! But then again when you did get in, it was up to you to decide when to leave. No one will tell you to leave and you can take your time to explore the little things.
For a fan who has read Sherlock Holmes, cover to cover, there are a lot of things of interest. Small artifacts from different stories are placed there and when you see them, you are drawn back into the Mystery that Sherlock Holmes solved ages ago.
You can also see some of the newspaper cuttings of SH’s time and read about the different crimes that took place back then.
Then there is also a shop at the entrance, from where you buy the ticket to get in. The shop houses all the novels of Sherlock Holmes, in different editions which you can buy. Many other items such as his cap and pipe are also for sale.
Sherlock Holmes and Dr.Watson used to live on the second floor. That’s where you can enter there living. You are also allowed to go to the floors above, where they have different models and statues taken out from the stories, recreating some of the scenes.
All in all it was a very good experience and these pictures don’t do justice to the Museum. It costs around 20 Pounds to enter, but I think it is worth it. It is a must visit for every Sherlock Holmes fan.
