Sherlock Holmes ! Since I was a small kid, I loved reading stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes was my favorite. I can still remember that one time I got so involved in the ‘STUDY IN SCARLET’ that I started reading the book at noon. My Dad didn’t like to see me wasting my time (reading anything other than my school syllabus was considered wasting). So in the fear of not being caught, what I locked myself in the bathroom and placed down the commode and sat on it and started to read. My dad came and knocked, I told him that I was going ‘number two’. He returned after an hour and knocked again…

I pretended to make sounds and told him that I was constipated. He thought I was doing something else 😛 . He told me that after I get free, he is going to have a talk with me, and talk he did.

I didn’t realize what he was thinking until I entered his room.

DAD: “Son sit down, I think you are old enough and we need to talk!”

ME: “Talk? About what.”

DAD: “About the changes that take place with the human body as it grows up!”

ME: “WHAT?”

DAD: “I know what you were doing inside !”

ME: “I SWEAR I WAS READING SHERLOCK HOLMES !”

DAD: “Yeah right…”

ME: “I SWEAR TO GOD I WAS READING SHERLOCK HOLMES !

Yes reading Sherlock Holmes, got me in trouble but I didn’t stop reading that story until I ended it.
